So why did I decide to do my eighth-grade project on the History and Science of Medieval Weapons? Well, throughout this school year I have gained an interest in history, especially the history of Medieval Europe. I have chosen to focus on the Battle of Hastings. The weapons that I have focused on are the arming sword, the battle-axe, the spear, and the longbow; because these weapons were almost universally significant throughout Medieval Europe. I selected the Battle of Hastings because it seriously influenced the English monarchy, the English language, and the world. When I started this project, I wanted to share my passion for weapons and their history with other students and I still plan to do this.
