The art behind painting
MIA MARQUEZ
I am someone who loves painting and I happen to be pretty good at it. I’ve been painting ever since I could remember. My grandpa and I would sit in the basement for hours just painting. My art would go on the fridge and his in the Mexican Heritage Museum. I had slowly begun losing my interest in art until quarantine. I had fallen into a bad state and needed to get my mind distracted so I began painting. I now view painting as a distraction and a hobby, so when eighth-grade projects came rolling around I chose it.
Painting wasn’t my first choice, it was my third choice. My first choice was character design but I ended up losing interest and found it quite boring and difficult. My second choice was fashion but I couldn’t do that because I was in a group of 4 girls and we needed to split up so I went with Laurissa.
Larissa and I thought long and hard about what we were going to do. I thought of the idea of painting. I brought up the things we could do with this topic and why we should do this topic and she was a hundred percent on board. I told her we can make paint, teach them different techniques, and teach them about artists that don’t get talked about often although their art is everywhere. Once we got the green light to get started we began putting together our eighth-grade project.

This is a little bit about Mia and I and why we decided to choose painting.
The reason we picked painting is because Mia and I love doing art,painting,crafts ect. Mia and I were both in a group with Rianna and Jocleyn but then Jason thought it would be a better idea to split into two groups. So we did and now Mia is with me. We had to think of what we wanted to do and I said that she could pick our topic and then she randomly said what about painting so I said it was a good idea and that’s how we came up with painting. I really like to do crafts and painting and drawing and stuff even though I’m not that good at it but I’m still learning and getting better.
When Mia and I were thinking about things to do for our topic I instantly thought of how to make your own paint. MIa thought it was a great idea so we decided to do it as part of our project and yeah we worked on it for a bit and that’s how we have the topic of painting.
Now this is a little bit about myself, I like to be very organized and I really like to work with little kids. My favorite color is green. I like to hang out with friends and family.
